OUR STORY

MEET The OWNERS

John & Barbara Ramieri

We met in college, Barbara was the captain of the cheer team, I was the guy chasing football dreams on the varsity squad. She brought the energy, I brought the grit. That chemistry clicked fast. We got married not long after we graduated, built a life around love, family, faith and a shared commitment to staying strong in every sense of the word.

Five years later, we welcomed our first son. Two years after that, our second. And through every chapter, the late nights, the sports games, the birthday parties and career demands, we stayed true to our fitness journey. Fitness wasn’t just something we did. It was who we were. A way to stay balanced, to show up strong for our kids and for each other. But life, as it does, threw us some curveballs.

A few days before Christmas, when our boys were just 12 and 10, the unthinkable happened. Barbara suffered a heart attack caused by a spontaneous coronary artery dissection, SCAD. No warning, no explanation. Just a split-second shift that changed everything. The recovery was slow, grueling at times. But as you get to know Barbara, you’ll realize that under her sweet demeanor is someone made of steel. She fought through every step with determination and heart. Once she turned that corner, she was back at it, rebuilding her strength one session at a time. Recently, through additional testing, it was revealed that she has Fibromuscular Dysplasia - FMD which caused her SCAD so many years ago.

The weight of it all took a toll on me. Always fit, always in control, I started slipping. The stress piled up, and so did the weight. Then came Barbara’s celiac diagnosis. A total shift in how we lived and ate. We overhauled our diet, got smarter and stricter. And just as we found our rhythm again, our youngest was diagnosed with celiac, too.

We kept going.

A few years later, I was diagnosed with ITP, a rare autoimmune disorder. And if that wasn’t enough, it led to the removal of my thyroid. Another hard reset. But I came back. Lost over 100 pounds. Not with shortcuts but with work, faith and purpose. The same purpose that’s carried us through it all.

This journey hasn’t been linear. It’s been filled with peaks and valleys, moments of doubt, of joy, and of breakthrough. And through it all, we’ve learned one thing above all: wellness isn’t a destination; it’s a decision you make, every day.

That’s why we opened Recharge Wellness Club.

To give our community a place to reset, rebuild, and rise just like we did. We’ve lived the highs and lows of health. We’ve felt the fear of losing everything and we know the power of hope, of grit, and of coming back stronger.

We’re here to share it all; our tools, our therapies, and our story, with you.

Welcome to the Recharge community.
